Iris Gardens

We went to the iris gardens yesterday. I love this place. I could spend hours there, it is so peaceful, beautiful and just one of my favorite places . I tried to get good pictures, but my camera and girls weren't cooperating very well. This is what I did get though.
These are one of my favorite flower thingys. Above is a close up and below is what they look like. I don't know what they are called I just think they look so cool. A long stem with a ball on top.
I really like these flowers too.

Trying to get a picture of the girls and I but the girls didn't want any pictures taken.

Porter was happy riding in the stroller though
Taken a break in the shade. It was a hot day so they liked to be in the shade so they weren't too hot.
Attempting to get a cute picture, didn't quite work. Oh well, we will go again to these gardens soon because the irises weren't all bloomed. I think next visit we will take a picnic dinner and eat on their tables. I wish my backyard looked like this.

Dinner is served!!!

Friday night on our date night we went to Newport Seafood Grill in Salem and we had this: Whole Crispy Fried Red Rockf ish. It came w/ corn tortillas w/ lime and cilantro to make yummy fish tacos. It was so good even though it looks gross. We also got an expensive Dungeness Crab & Bay Shrimp Louie Salad which wasn't as good as the rock fish. We have gone to this restaurant 3 times now, each time we had gift certificates there. The first time we had a $50 gift card and the last two times we have gotten $15 gift certificates in the mail. I don't know why we have gotten the last two but they have just mailed them to us recently and I don't mind.
Just thought I had to get a picture because I have never seen a whole fish that was fried. We saw them bring one to another table so we had to order it and try it.

Mother's Day

I hope every mother had a wonderful Mother's Day! Mine was great! David had taken Kenzie to the store the other day and she picked out these roses for me so I got those on Friday. On Mother's Day, David made breakfast before we had to leave for church which was French toast w/ strawberries and whipped cream. I got the purple flowers at church and I also got to hear Eliana sing mother songs w/ the other Primary children. When we got home David made me a delicious meal of fresh mushroom and cheese pasta, a yummy jello dish w/ pudding, fried fish (that he caught the other day w/ the girls). He also made me cinnamon rolls. Eliana colored the card that says Happy Mother's Day at church and Kenzie colored the little box in nursery, it had chocolate hugs and kisses in it and a cute saying on it when I got it. I also got the DVD Made of Honor which is one of my favorites, but I am going to trade it in for something else because we have Netflix and can watch it instantly on our computer so we don't need the DVD. It was a great day! Oh, a funny thing Eliana did was she kept talking about Kid's day and what she wanted to do for that. Apparently she was jealous of the attention I got and wanted it to be her day. I guess she is a little self centered and spoiled. We kept telling her there was no kid's day but she kept talking about it.

Outdoor Fun

After living in our duplex for over 2 years we finally got some outdoor toys. Here are a few pictures of the girls playing outside.

Porter crawling

Porter is finally crawling the right way. He has been scooting and rolling and maneuvering different ways to get around, but this week he has been actually crawling. He is getting faster every day. Now I want him to walk because he is too heavy to carry and I don't really care for the crawling stage as they seem to get really dirty, but I know he needs to crawl awhile before he walks. He isn't much different now that he is crawling except he discovered that he can move from one room to another by crawling. He never really seemed to leave the room he was in when he was just scooting and stuff. Our front room is a step down and he hasn't quite figured out how to climb up that so he will stay put in the front room, for now at least.

Slip and Slide

We decided we needed to break down and buy outdoor toys for the girls so we bought them a little basketball hoop and a slip and slide the other day. We are looking at swing sets and will hopefully get one soon. Here are some pictures of the girls playing on the slip and slide, which they didn't quite get how to do it but had a lot of fun anyway. Getting ready to go.Running
Slipping on her feet.Almost ran into the fence.

And going back to do it again. Kenzie was a little too cold so she didn't do much.
Porter was funny; he just sat and watched them and was really excited. He just kept on clapping and clapping. It seemed as though he was cheering for them.

Tulip Festival

Last week for Family Home Evening David, I and the kids went to the Tulip Festival. We actually went there after the festival part was closed, which was really quite nice because we didn't have to pay to park and there was only like one other family there. It was colder when we went so I didn't get to take very many pictures (and the only pictures we did get was with our coats on; it was way to cold to take them off) or stay too long. Also I didn't get very many pictures because I forgot to put my memory card into my camera and the internal memory doesn't hold very many pictures. Here are just a few shots of us at the tulip fields. They were absolutely gorgeous this year. (Yes we go every year) At the festival they have tire swings (that look like horses), slides, duck races, fields and fields and fields of tulips, a ride that takes you around the fields (which wasn't running when we went because of after hours), and other fun things. It is a great event! It is one of my favorite things to go to. Porter and I.
Eliana walking in one of the rows of tulips.

David and the kids

Me and the kids in front of the mixed tulips fields, my favorite.

Again me w/ the kids.
The girls being silly. Kenzie cut her chin pretty deep right before we left to go to the festival so she has two butterfly bandages on her chin. Cute huh.

We packed a dinner and ate there, so the girls are finishing off their drinks in this picture.
